“The love that came through for me this weekend was given space by your gentle guidance, your own vulnerability, your conscious facilitation, and your modeling of loving-kindness.”

– Alicia Yang, Participant, Self-Led Self-Care, May 2023

“I recently attended an IFS retreat sponsored by Mindful Child & Family Therapy. It was my first one, so some protective parts were not sure what to expect. From registration to arrival, attendance to departure, I felt held in a safe womb of compassion, creativity, connection, curiosity (and the other C’s & P’s). My most vulnerable part is my greatest strength. My wish is for others to experience the blessings and meaningfulness of future retreats offered by Mindful Child & Family Therapy. It’s perfect for a weekend when you can’t do a longer retreat!”

– K. Patel, From One Heart to Many, July 2024

“I’ve been to many, many seminars and retreats over the years, and it’s hard to think of any facilitator who has come close to Steve. He was overall just excellent in so many ways.”

– Retreat Participant, From One Heart to Many, July 2024

“Truly exceptional. The content was inspired and Dr Chee was so centered, supportive, and engaged.”

– Teresa V., From One Heart to Many, July 2024

Description:

Join us for this Internal Family Systems (IFS) weekend retreat specifically designed for hard working caregivers – including medical professionals, healthcare workers, mental health professionals, parents and caregivers of adult parents – who give so much to those around them every day. We acknowledge you for your caring efforts, and we want to re-Treat you to this nourishing Self-care experience!

We will guide you in exploring different aspects of yourself that come up while caring for others, as well as the parts of you that might get in the way of truly tending to your own needs. We will offer IFS exercises such as “Parts Mapping”, to help you externalize and begin to “unblend” from these parts of you, so you can move into a deeper relationship with your parts from a place of curiosity, compassion and increased clarity – all qualities of what we call “Self Energy” in the IFS approach.

Each day will begin with Somatic IFS-informed yin yoga, and each evening will end with Somatic IFS-informed restorative yoga with Jaclyn Long. The yoga practice will be incredibly gentle and therapeutic, to allow for time to notice and be with the parts of yourself that are arising in the moment. You will be invited to listen to the body and honor its cues, as you tune into the inherent wisdom within you. Yoga mats & supplies will be provided. No previous yoga experience necessary. All bodies are welcome!

Steeped in the beauty of the Redwoods and surrounded by miles of mountains with hiking trails, Mount Madonna will provide an inspiring abode for our time together. Healthy vegetarian meals will be prepared by the wonderful staff, with delicious gluten free and vegan options readily available. (Dietary restrictions / preferences can be requested when you book your accommodations through Mount Madonna.)
